The Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center held their Second Annual Celebrity Waiter Fundraiser on April 16th, 2008!
Each year they line up a list of celebrity waiters, led by “Head Waiter” Coach Les Miles.
Gordy Rush was emcee for the evening, and priceless items were displayed and auctioned off.
The BRCAC is a non-profit organization that provides services to child victims of sexual abuse. They offer a child-friendly setting for child interviews and on-going therapy, in addition to followup support for their non-offending caregivers. The overall goal of the BRCAC is to reduce any further trauma to the child; they do this by partnering with the various agencies that investigate, treat and prosecute child abuse cases. They serve East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge and Iberville Parishes.
This year we raised more than $75,000 compared to last years $25,000.

It’s rounding the 3rd year of my good old powerbooks life and I’m taking him in for his last round of care this week. Since there are no apple stores in our great state I’ve had to totally back up everything in order to prepare for his departure.
Before he goes though I’ve been meaning to post some much requested birthday party photos.
This party was amazing. January 19th and FREEZING. I’ll post pictures of the amazing project put together by my father and some great friends, but in the meantime these are the pretty ones. Since geaux is still dead (grrrr), I’ve not been able to post fun pics as much as I’d like. The only photo in this set not taken with my Rebel is the “loot” picture which was taken with my powershot SD800 simple point and shoot. I took about 100 pictures with both cameras.
So enjoy these photos but keep in mind that the night before this party I was STRESSING big time over the weather as I knew it was going to be FREEZING the next day. All it took was one distressed phone call to one caring father and the end result was an encased patio with heaters going, an inflatable inside, and about 20 VERY happy kids. The beer was flowin. Good times had by all. Again, these aren’t even the cream of the crop.

I’m just now able to handle even coming back here and looking at pictures after my hosting company for my gallery crashed and ALL of my files were lost on a server I’ve had for 8 years.
Needless to say I was sick to my stomach and unable to do any web work for a while I was so livid. Interesting timing on the crash for sure, but hopefully I’m back now. Golsutigers.org WILL be back. It might take a few months but I plan on restoring everything. For now, this will be my new picture “gallery” home.
I have some catching up to do…hopefully Henry’s birthday party pics will be next, but I’ve got a ton to go through first. For now here are some pictures I took for Laura, mom to her own sweet baby Henry and his brother Thomas from my Henry’s class. I took these the day of their fall picnic and shared them with Laura only recently.

Baby Henry. So cute. I saw him last week at school and he’s already so much bigger than this now! I got some pictures of him at the birthday party too. Honestly, this is the sweetest child. He’d just run up to me and hug me every second he got at the party just because!

Henry and Thomas going down the slide!

Love the PRECIOUS little girl in the background of this one.

Sweet Thomas!

LOVE the filters on this one. It came out so rustic looking.

Henry and I did these New Years Day at the Capital Lakes. We had a picnic together first and I was discussing with him what I thought some good shots might be. He pondered the idea as well and kept posing for me all afternoon. It was a beautiful day.

This one was his idea. This tree was beautiful and he wanted to hug it. He screamed, “MAMA! Get this shot!” So freakin cute.

Nutria Rat.

This snake was right below us for several pictures. A couple of times I was rolling around in the grass snapping pictures and must have been 2 feet from this thing. Ugh. I freaked out of course then ran back to snap his picture…lol.

This is where it was.

I think he looks like me in this one.

This one was also his idea.
